Is this for real?  Are “we” really this stupid?

It’s election time and although I firmly believe that it is everyone’s civic duty to vote.  I have to ask myself…should everyone really be allowed to vote?  People whom honestly cannot even tell me what the Bill of Rights is, how many Senators we have per state, or (this always make me want to just shoot myself or actually the other person) why we celebrate Independence Day.  I am intrusting the future of a country that I am also a part of to these individuals?  Whom it’s sad to say are the majority of the voters.

I think that voting is kind of like surgery.  I’m not going to just watch MTV’s True Life:  Gastric Bypass…and think I got the idea perhaps I’ll try that myself.  Casting your vote is in the long run determining your fate and the fate of everyone else in our country.  Literally…whether people will die because they will be sent to an unjustifiable war, have no health care for themselves or their family, or even if they have a job to support themselves or their family with.

I am literally going to grovel at the feet of America and beg!  If you are that ignorant…and I am confident whether you can honestly answer that question.  Take the time to educate yourselves.  Democracy only works if we know the facts…past and present.  By facts, I also mean do not get your information from MTV or from a candidates smear campaign towards their opponent.

Now I step down from my high horse and say Good day America…I love you…but I cannot believe that my husband could have died twice defending those whom think “That Sarah Palin was pretty funny on SNL…I’m voting for her!”
