My family took a 6 day vacation to sunny Arizona. Which is a long way from where home sweet home is located. So of course we had to book a flight out there. We booked 3 seats. One for myself, eldest daughter (whom is only 3), and my husband. Then booked our youngest as “child on lap”. I’ve been on other flights by myself as have just about everyone I know. I was expecting the worst. I was even given pitty by everyone informing me they were thankful they weren’t in my shoes.
So the first travel day finally arrived. Of course I am an over packer so we had 3 bags checked, 3 carry-on’s, and 3 personal items. Yikes, it was a lot of crap! We get up to security and of course we are holding up a massive line trying to push all of our crap threw as well as break down our stroller and get ourselves threw. TSA agents were amazing. No seriously! They were so patient with us. Even assisted with handling our youngest child and the stroller. Then we try to get on our flight. We flew with U.S. Air and yet again, amazing people! They assisted with our bags, children, and the stroller. We didn’t have a non-stop flight and everyone at both locations gave us so much assistance and courtesy. I was amazed! The children didn’t even make a single upset peep threw out all 5 hours of flying time.
I thought for sure this couldn’t continue. It had to be a fluke. But the trip home proved to be the same. The TSA agents we so polite and helpful. Then once again everyone associated with U.S. Airways we unbelievably helpful and courteous. Two flight attendants carried our bags aboard for us. Even the captain of our final flight home held our youngest daughter as my husband and I tried to wrangle all of our luggage, put our stroller back together, and manage our toddler.
Amazing! Truly amazing! I had flown several times on my own. They weren’t bad experiences but they were also nothing to brag to your friends about. Going threw security and flying wasn’t a breeze but that was only because of our large amount of stuff. Everyone and I do mean EVERYONE from the individuals at the U.S. Airways ticket counter, the TSA agents, to our flight attendants and even the captains of our flights were the greatest! The most helpful, patient, and courteous individuals I have dealt with.
I am definitely looking forward to when I get to take the next vacation with my family. I will also definitely be flying with U.S. Air!
